Juan,
Thank you for your efforts in putting together this blog. We were out of town when the community meeting was held. We have tolerated these transients and Ben for a very long time. I don't quite understand why the police department can not elimenate these people who are not legal residents...they do not own or rent this property. Can't the PD put pressure on Ben's uncle, the owner, to get rid of these people loitering in this property? The PD is well aware of every activity that has happened there. The police come out, make a big production, corral everyone in the house, handcuff all of them at gunpoint while SWAT and the helicopter team looks on only to detain them for 30 minutes, in separate police cars, then release the handcuffs and let them free !!!! What was with that?? The police returned the next morning and as these idiots are cursing and hollering, they go to the door, talk to them, then leaves. What an extreme waste of police time and tax payer money. A huge waste considering these people probably do not pay taxes......they just take from the government.
I have worried countless days and nights about my young adult children coming and going. These people know all about our daily activities. There are many young women within a very close proximity, that are very nervous about the activities and transient males lurking from the yard or their cars as they go to school or work. It is time we as tax paying, law abiding, hard working citizens of Palo Del Amo Woods take control of this situation. This would not be occuring if we were in Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills or Torrance. Do we not deserve the right to peace in our neighborhoods? We have all paid alot of money for our homes. Most of us take great pride in maintaining them. This corner of Berendo has been hideous for years!
We must also work with the Homeowner's Association in this matter as they had been very active in past years. We can no longer be tolerant of the activities of Ben's Wayward Drughouse and Brothel.
If you have an email address to the detective, please forward to me. I am not home during the day so I have not had opportunity to speak with the investigators that have interview some of the residents.
Frustrated, worried Mom in the Woods.
